How Does It Work?

Prostride is an orthobiologic medical device that processes a horse’s own blood in a special kit which is then injected into the horse’s joint. Prostride signals the immune system to reduce inflammation, reduce pain, and promote a healing environment within the joint.

What Are the Benefits of Pro-Stride?

• Natural: made up of cells from the horse’s own body.

• Portable, stall-side processing in less than 20 minutes.

• Effective treatment for osteoarthritis, synovitis, and tendon injuries.

• Clinically proven effectiveness: more than 95% of patients that were treated with Pro-Stride had greater than 50% improvement in 2-4 weeks, with improvement in lameness up to a year.

• Pro-Stride typically lasts longer than traditional steroid joint injections.

 

Which Horses Can Benefit from Pro-Stride?

• Young horses where we would like to avoid steroids as long as possible.

• Metabolic horses with Insulin Dysregulation, Equine Metabolic Syndrome, or PPID (Cushings Disease), since steroid injections may be contraindicated.

• Horses who are still responsive to traditional steroid injections, but would like to lengthen the time between treatments. Prostride is usually effective for a longer duration.

 

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

PRP works in a similar way to Pro-Stride, using a special kit to process the horse’s own blood to isolate healing factors. This highly concentrated solution is injected into soft tissue injuries to help jump-start healing and shorten recovery.
